It may be difficult to know whether one of Oklahoma City’s newest additions will grow up to be a Thunder fan, but we’re certainly making the effort to turn her into one.
The Oklahoma City Zoo’s newborn elephant received a version of the “newborn kit” that the Thunder is giving to every baby born at an Integris Health hospital this year. Since Integris played a role in ensuring a smooth delivery of the elephant calf, we thought we ought to give one to her, too.
To congratulate Asha and her calf, our team sent a pink Thunder hat and Thunder baby booties to the Zoo earlier this week. The Zoo posted some pics on their Facebook page, noting, “Thanks Thunder! We know this ensemble doesn’t come in super big girl elephant size…;-) ”
True - it doesn’t, but we’re pretty sure the folks at the OKC Zoo will find a way to make good use out of the baby gift, even if it is a couple sizes too small.
